Are You Taking the Right Fish Oil?

What are the benefits of taking a fish oil supplement? That’s a good first question and one that is easy to answer because scientists have been studying what Fish Oil can do for the human body for quite a while now. The easy answer is that fish oil is chock full of Omega-3 fatty acids, which are crucial for your metabolism and been shown to positively support positive moods, cardiovascular health, as well as joint function and comfort. Wow, that’s a lot of benefits!

The trick is, however, to figure out if you have the right fish oil supplement. The true value comes from a combination of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and the doxosahexaenoic acid (DHA). Many fish oil supplements contain a-linolenic acid (ALA), which may not have the same cardiovascular benefits. So it’s important that you choose the right fish oil supplement product.

Cell Nutritionals’ Fish Oil supplements contain both EPA and DHA and (depending on which one you choose) have a whopping 300 mg to 980 mg of Omega-3 fatty acids. Additionally, our Fish Oil products have addressed concerns over mercury levels in many fish oils by way of a process called “molecular distillation.”

What the heck is “molecular distillation,” you ask? A special instrument is used to spin the oil rapidly, allowing different substances to be separated based on their molecular weight. In this process, toxins, such as mercury and PCBs, are separated from the fish oil. Natural vitamin E (an antioxidant) is then added to our Fish Oil before encapsulation to protect the oil against rancidity.

A recent article published in the Harvard School of Public Health supports what has been a growing body of evidence, stating that “there is strong evidence that eating fish or taking fish oil is good for the heart and blood vessels.” And, if you order Fish Oil supplements from us, it’s also good for the pocketbook… while still maintaining the healthful benefits you count on.
